Conservative Lamentation About Charleston shooting?

Just wondering: Can anyone find a conservative blog that is lamenting the tragic events in Charleston or offering support for our brothers and sisters at Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church or otherwise speaking out about this great evil?

I ask because I've looked around and cannot find any.

If not, why not?

I'm not sure about blogs (although I'm sure they have them), of course maybe highly rated national radio shows don't count for as much as blogs.

Michael Medved, and Hugh Hewitt have both talked about it on the air as has Bill Bennett.

Matt Walsh, wrote something really early, but is on vacation and hasn't done much else.

I don't know where you've looked, but I've heard nothing but support for the families, praise for their forgiving attitude, and condemnation for the killer.

I'm not sure what more you want.

Are you going to criticize the lefty media who can't even wait until the funerals to start trying to use this tragedy for political gain?

To be fair, I've heard some callers to radio shows suggesting that removing the CSA flag is the wrong move. But most of those arguments have been based more on the fact that this is a tangential issue and should be decided by the state legislature under conditions not so fraught with political pressure. Also to be fair, all the responses from the hosts have been that it's time to take down the flag.

We did have a local guy who got slammed on social media for having the gall to suggest (early on), that it made sense not to jump to conclusions and to wait for the evidence to come out.

That, it seems to me, is what I find concerning about how these types of things are handled. There is a rush to fit an event into something that certain political groups think helps their cause before all of the information is available. Why I believe this is problematic is that if the evidence contradicts that narrative, then the evidence is ignored in favor of the narrative.

Just out of curiosity, how many people were shot/killed in Chicago last week versus how many were shot/killed in Charleston?

I'm sure conservatives in general have grieved with the rest of us. I certainly know conservatives who are very concerned.

No, my question was about conservative bloggers in particular... are there any out there expressing sadness, grief, anger, etc about this. It's a pretty horrible news item, you'd think someone would mention it.

So, your answer to my question appears to be the same as my experience: You are unaware of any conservative bloggers talking about it and you have no answers as to why that is. Thanks.

Actually all of the names I gave you have blogs or some online presence, so I did give you some options.

Also, why single out conservative bloggers to the exclusion of all other conservative or liberal media?

Not that it proves anything, but none of the liberal bloggers I visit has written anything significant on this either.

So what's your beef?

Um, I have. So, maybe you should say "you are the only one I've seen to post anything about it..."

I believe I said "written anything significant". I specifically did not say "posted anything".

So, why single out conservative bloggers and ignore the rest of conservative media?

So, what's your beef?

Red State:

"In the days since the horrific events in Charleston, in which a racist, terrorist thug murdered nine people,..."
"They deserve the praise and remembrance given them by those who have detailed their beautiful, loving, vibrant spirits in pieces such as this one. The families of the victims, mourning such terrible losses, have demonstrated strength and faith beyond what I can imagine. The forgiveness they’ve already extended to their loved ones’ killer is nothing short of incredible. They are better people than most."

Matt Walsh

"I am supposed to be on vacation, but I read about this massacre at the church in Charleston, and I feel like it would be negligent for me to say nothing. These were our brothers and sisters in Christ, gathered in prayer, only to be horrifically slaughtered by an evil and depraved man. We should all be weeping and praying for the lost and their families."

"All we can do in the face of it is pray and love. That's all we have. There is no other solution.

Sometimes I feel like I can't bear any more of this. It seems every day we are confronted by some new monstrous act and forced to reckon with the fact that this is the broken, violent, hateful world we are giving to our children. But in this misery I feel an even greater longing for Christ, because I know that He will come to wipe away all of our tears, and there will be no more pain.

Until then, we must bring as much love and joy into the world as possible. That is the only weapon we have against the darkness. And it's the only weapon we need.

Remember this crime occurred in South Carolina, and its state motto is Dum Spiro Spero. That means, "while I breathe, I hope."

There is still hope in this world as long as there is love, and there is love as long as there is Christ. And Christ is eternal."

Where are all the liberal bloggers lamenting the 14 people murdered in Chicago during the very same week?

I guess we don't care as much as you do because we didn't post something on our blog, is that it, Dan?

“But they do all their deeds to be noticed by men; for they broaden their phylacteries and lengthen the tassels of their garments."

I guess I win and am not mean spirited and heartless now😄

Pyromaniacs

Craig said...

"So much can and should be said in response to the horrific murders that occurred in Charleston, SC at Emanuel AME Church. But one thing is for certain, the actions of the murderer cannot be adequately described in anything less that theological language. What the murderer did was evil. Yes, it was sick and criminal and revolting. But above all it was evil. It was sin. It was an affront to a holy and good God. It was an evil act committed against men and women who were gathered to pray. And adding to the wickedness of the killer's actions is the fact that these brothers and sisters in Christ welcomed him into their midst and by his own admission showed him kindness."

Thank you for answering the question. I repeat...

I ask because I've looked around and cannot find any.

Glad to know there are some.

Why "pyromaniacs..."?

Craig said...

It's a conservative blog that addressed the issue.

I'm still curious why this is an issue. As I pointed out its not like the left side of the blogging world is talking about much more than the polarizing divisive stuff which isn't a path toward a solution anyway. It seems as though you are taking conservatives to task while giving libs a pass.
