I Worship Mystery

What makes sense?
God makes sense
at least to many of us
but if not
okay then
mystery makes sense

Data makes sense, too

Of course

Measure
Weigh
Observe
Touch
Taste
Hear
See with my own damned eyes

Data makes sense
a great deal of hard-hitting
ground-level
common demonstrable observable sense

but
even within Data
and well-considered research

there is error
there is lack of understanding
there are unknowns

unknown
variables
equations
conclusions

unknown unknowns

and
unknowns are a mystery
thus
mystery makes sense
like data
like research
mystery is just as observable
as data that way

We can count on mystery
even as we don't understand it
and we can count on not understanding mystery
even as we explore it

I worship mystery
and call It God

Marshal is oblivious to scripture. Though he claims it as his Jesus he doesn’t know the book. He is a child.

The reason that love is more important than hope and even faith! is that we have no choice but to live within constant mystery - except that it is conquered in love.

“Love never ends. But as for prophecies, they will come to an end; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will come to an end. For we know only in part, and we prophesy only in part; but when the complete comes, the partial will come to an end. When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child; when I became an adult, I put an end to childish ways. For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then we will see face to face. Now I know only in part; then I will know fully, even as I have been fully known. And now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; and the greatest of these is love.
