It says to me that opening our minds not only has the potential to increase our own enlightenment, it also has the potential to increase the enlightenment of others.
I don't have a problem with your perception of this piece, except with the caveat that what our open minds receive or send is truly enlightening. Obviously that isn't always so.

I have the same issue with alerts.
