It was one of those March days when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold: when it is summer in the light, and winter in the shade.
~Charles Dickens
Awake, thou wintry earth -
Fling off thy sadness!
Fair vernal flowers, laugh forth
Your ancient gladness!
~Thomas Blackburn, "An Easter Hymn"
In June as many as a dozen species may burst their buds on a single day. No one can heed all of these anniversaries; no one can ignore all of them.
~Aldo Leopold
A light exists in spring
Not present on the year
At any other period.
When March is scarcely here
A color stands abroad
On solitary hills
That science cannot overtake,
But human nature feels.
~Emily Dickinson

I disagree. ;)
Just thought I'd be the first to disagree and beat the rush. :)
If I wax poetic, they tend to leave 'em alone.
Maybe I should start writing all my opinion pieces in rhyme...?
Then I'll write the first line:
There once was a Dan from Kentucky...
Disagree with spring? Yeah. Right. It's not how you write, it's the position you take on what you write that provokes agreement or disagreement. Or don't the learned understand this?
Check. Mate. lol
AH! I get it! Bait an opponent you often accuse of only visiting to disagree so that you can claim a victory. Brilliant! Except, to disagree, I wasn't disagreeing with anything. I merely questioned the notion of disagreeing with spring, and then I clarified that it isn't the style of writing that provokes disagreement. Neither of these constitutes disagreement themselves. You don't really play chess, do you?
*snicker*
That fish rises to cheap bait.
Excellent. ;)
