There have been times in my life when I've chosen to do things I'm not proud of now, not because I "mistook" them for good, but because I wanted to get back at someone. There was no mistake. I've seen business executives make decisions based on avoiding a truly small inconvenience, and a woman lost her job because of it. They simply couldn't be bothered, and no mistake.
I'm not big on the whole idea of "mistakes" when it comes to behaviour. People choose what they choose, and then enjoy (or don't) the consequences.
'doesn't appear anyone cares to debate. I've been away.
One could argue, MCM, that, in wanting to "get back at someone" you were chasing happiness. Why would you do it if not to make you happy.
Did you think of this revenge as a "good"? No. But you probably didn't think of it as an evil, either. Just the happiness that you sought in seeing someone get what you felt they had coming to them.

Happiness? Good? Those terms are so subjective!
