  2. What does it mean to you?

(in other words, I don't know...)

  3. Here's what popped into my mind: the "young adult" literature book, "47," by Walter Mosley.

    Shrug...

  4. A sawbriar by a utility pole. The pole has the carefully placed ID numbers, not straight Gothic numerals, nor even sturdy Roman or Copper Plate, but the sort of thing one would have on one's mailbox. Someone somewhere chose that typeface for all the utility poles of that era, same here as in Dan's location. And someone eyeballed them on the pole and nailed them down. Also see the marks in the pole where a lineman has dug in his cleates climbing the pole. People making decisions and leaving their mark behind. And the briar. Nature (or God, if you must) leaving a mark there as well.

    Nice poem. Thanks.
